Artifact 1:  Writing Lab Reports

In science we did a lab about chemical changes of putting different substances into other substances, or addding heat. During the lab we wrote down obserations on what we were seeing happen to the substances when they mix, or when we added heat. After the lab we had to create a ful lab report which consisted of MLA formated essay like paper with different parts. The parts included Abstract section that stated our problemand what the technique was in the lab, Introduction section that intriduced the problem and talked about what happend to the substances, Procedure which explains what you had to do in order to complete the lab, Result section where you added a chart or graph, and a Discussion section where we had some questions to answer and talked about how and why the lab connects to the problem. There also had to be a References page, which is a list of websites, journals, books, etc. that was used for background information.

From this assignment I got a few errors like not a good title, using first person throughout the whole paper, not having a flow in the pharagraphs, not putting more observations in the table, and some pharagraphs being to 'wordy'. Although this assignment wasn't the best grade ever, I still learned from it. I learned that when reading the layout or grading scale, I need to pay attention to deatil, like no first person, or having a title to go with the lab. I also learned to always reread you essay many times so it makes sense, so you don't have confusion. The things I learned also relate to leadership, I realized even leaders are not always perfect and make mistakes, and that leaders must make attention to details in order to do it right.
